How to Make 2026 Your Best Year Yet!

Most of the time talk around the New Year is all about goal setting and reinvention. As if novelty is the only way for us to have a great year.
Even at Mighty Emotions, goals are important not just at the start of the year but throughout the year as well.
However, the mission with Mighty Emotions is to help you live a life that feels good, not just looks good or checks things off a list. This is about living with intention.
The key to a life that feels good isn’t just checking goals off a list. It’s filling your need for meaning.
It’s not about only doing things out of obligation or even desire. It’s about what fills a void within you. What uniquely gives your life meaning? Then carving out space for this regularly.
Too often we lose sight of those things that really matter to us. Or worse, we deprioritize them.
A lot of this comes down to time management. We need to pay attention to where our time is going. If you feel like there isn’t enough time left over for you to prioritize the things that fill your soul, what needs to shift? What needs to move? What needs to be rearranged in your day or week?
It’s important that you edit and you remove things that are preventing you where possible from experiencing the things that make life meaningful for you. This begins with sitting down (or my personal favorite – going for a walk) and getting clear on what these things are. Before you take any action.
Another reason we don’t have more of the things we love incorporated into our lives is unprocessed shame.
Somehow we were made to believe that these things “should” not be important to us. Or maybe there was a period of time we had to deprioritize these activities and now we feel guilty for making space for these things again (even though our situation has changed).
Releasing shame around what you love and what holds value for you is essential so you don’t compromise on your needs. Our need for meaning isn’t any less trivial to our well-being than our other needs.
If you aren’t clear on what would fulfill your need for meaning, ask yourself “what are my core values?”
Maybe reflect on the year before and ask yourself where you felt disappointed or envious of someone else. Disappointment and Envy are excellent tools to show us what matters to us.
Like I said, if any shame comes up as you do this, release it. Which really means releasing the opinions of others and getting clear on your own perspective on things. If something is important to you, honor that.
Having a fulfilling year is about knowing what’s important to you and then making sure it’s present in your day to day life.
If we don’t get clear on the things that give our lives meaning it’s easy to loose sight of them when responsibilities come up or unexpected life shifts happen.
When we are intentional about making space for meaning in our lives then we fill a void within ourselves that might have otherwise been filled with numbing and distraction.
Make time for your hobbies. Make space for the activities that fill your soul. This is how you make 2026 and every year to come your best year yet!
